Shaw Reviews: What Users Think

Shaw was one of Canadians’ favorite internet providers, known for its reliability and fast speeds thanks to its fiber-optic network. Most reviews about Shaw were positive, particularly highlighting the speed and simplicity of its service. However, as is often the case with major providers, some customers mentioned long wait times when contacting customer service. Since April 3, 2023, Shaw no longer exists as an independent provider. The company was acquired by Rogers. For internet services, customers must now turn to Rogers, and reviews now pertain to Rogers' services.

It doesn't work at all now

Its absolutely disgusting that Shaw wifi has stoppes working for full days now in our home. Techinician came in to fix it, nothing helped. Earlier it was not working for hours, now its not working at all. Why we are paying $105 for this while we have other carriers available giving us better speed and service. If this continues to be the situation, this is going to be the last week for us as customers with Shaw.

Worst service ever

Thankfully we have more than just Rogers/shaw internet to choose from now. We have already started the process of switching. Finally have telus in the neighborhood. Of you have the ability to go with another company I suggest you do.

Shaw Internet

Can not provide advertised speed. Frequent drops in internet. Attempt to resolve mulitiple times. Requires 3+ tries of refurb internet boxes before finally sent a brand new one. Can not keep up with modern family internet usage. They are polite, but actual ability to solve problems is lacking. Expensive for product actually received. Held hostage by email until able to flip everything over to gmail.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

When we came back to Shaw after many years with Sasktel, we moved our landline as well over to them. We were getting 10 services with our landline and for our internet we were paying for 15 - 20 devices, since my grandchildren come to visit and they bring their iPads and/or tablets with them. When we switched over to Shaw they lied to us and said that nothing would change, that we would get the same services as we were currently getting with Sasktel, but we would have to get a 2 year contract. After we switched over, for the first few months it worked great. Then we noticed that we no longer had the 10 extra services with our landline. We no longer had call waiting and instead we had voicemail which we never used, so we got that straightened out. Then the government informed us that we qualified for the Senior's pricing for our internet. We contacted Shaw to let them know that we wanted the senior's pricing. We were told that we would have to pay out the rest of our contract, which we did. Then they lied to us again and told us that nothing would change as far as what we were paying for already, the 250 Mbps that was needed for our 15 - 20 devices (TV's, computers, cell phones, etc.). Meanwhile our internet tanked, because instead of 250 Mbps we were only getting 50 Mbps. One customer service representative even admitted that we were lied to, but they couldn't do anything about it. So basically, I am warning you that if you go with Shaw for your internet, and you are a senior, be prepared to not really get anything done on the computer. With the 50 Mbps that they give, you are looking at at least an hour for your computer to boot up (if you are lucky). Then wait for another 20 - 30 minutes for a page to load up. Then your screen keeps freezing and stops working. When you

Broken Promises, Hidden Costs

not keeping promised agreed cost. verbily agreeing to a 42.00 internet then charging over a hundred for lousy service. if you take a 2 year plan and have to cancel there is a cancellation fee. once again scre---- the consumer (just great service) the worst telephone service available you cant understand the agent. I am currently trying to find a less costly plan

Shaw satellite

I have asked why on my satellite TV why the ctv channel is always the same TV shows.....week after week. I questioned satellite customer service and they said it's not up to shaw to decide what ctv TV shows are. Nobody is taking responsibility of this issue and I am paying over 90.00 a month for cheap ctv on shaw satellite. You both don't care as long as you get your money.Wonder if a complaint to TV commissioner office....idk.
