Pixel 5: Full Specifications

Google took a slightly different approach with the Pixel 5, focusing less on raw flagship power and more on a balanced, compact premium phone with clean Android software and strong everyday photography. Its 6.0-inch OLED display keeps the size manageable while still offering a sharp 1080 x 2340 resolution, HDR support and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz for smoother scrolling. The phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, a combination that suits daily apps, multitasking and 5G connectivity without making the device bulky or heavy at 151 g. On the back, the dual-camera setup pairs Google’s 12.2 MP main camera with a 16 MP ultra wide camera, while video capture goes up to 4K at 60 fps. A rear fingerprint sensor, IP68 water and dust resistance, stereo speakers, NFC, and support for nano-SIM plus eSIM round out the essentials. Battery capacity is rated at 4080 mAh typical, and the Pixel 5 also supports 18 W wired charging, Qi wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

Pros

  • Excellent cameras: The Pixel line has always been known for its cameras and the Pixel 5 is no exception. The Pixel 5 features, for the first time, an ultra-wide 16 MP rear camera with advanced video stabilisation for enhanced video performance. For the rest, it continues the excellent work that we have come to expect from Pixel’s cameras.
  • Good Battery Life: With a 4000 mAh battery, the Pixel 5 manages to cram a 40% larger battery within a body that is smaller than last year’s Google Pixel 4. With the Snapdragon 765G processor to power and some smart battery adaptive technology, the Pixel 5 promises an easy full day battery life and maybe 2-day battery life when necessary!
  • Excellent overall package: Google seems to have listened to user feedback and has fixed all the most common complaints that Pixel users had - insufficient RAM and a less than average battery life. By fixing those two issues as well as including perks like wireless charging and water resistance, it is hard to see what is lacking in the Pixel 5.

Cons

  • Snapdragon 765G processor: It’s worth mentioning that while most premium flagships today feature a Snapdragon 865 processor, the Pixel 5 only features a Snapdragon 765G processor. However, multiple reports suggest that the 765G offers very little disadvantages compared to the 865 chipsets and has the added advantage reducing the phone’s price. The only time the 765G chip is said to show its weakness is when playing GPU intensive 3D games. So if you are an avid mobile gamer, this is something to keep in mind, but if not, then you will most likely never notice the difference.
