Moto G Pure: Full Specifications

The Moto G Pure is a straightforward entry level Motorola phone built around the essentials, with a large 6.5 inch Max Vision display, a slim plastic body and a water repellent design that helps it handle everyday use. Its HD+ IPS screen uses a tall 20:9 format that suits browsing, messaging and video, while the MediaTek Helio G25 processor works with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage for basic Android tasks. Storage can be expanded by microSD up to 512 GB, which is useful on a model with modest built in space. The rear camera system combines a 13 MP main camera with a 2 MP depth sensor for portrait effects, and both the rear and front cameras can record 1080p video at 30 fps. Motorola also includes a 5 MP selfie camera, a rear fingerprint sensor, face unlock, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and USB C. The 4,000 mAh battery is paired with 10 W charging, and the phone supports 4G LTE, Wi Fi ac and Bluetooth 5.0. Measuring 167.4 x 75.6 x 8.8 mm and weighing 188 g, it stays firmly in the simple, practical category.

Pros

  • Rear Fingerprint Scanner: While modern smartphones continue to rely on facial recognition technology, the Moto G Pure includes a traditional fingerprint scanner on the back of the device.
  • Price: Canadians can expect to pay a mere $200 for a brand new Moto G Pure. Alternatively, you could end up paying $16 per month if you choose to finance it over two years.

Cons

  • Storage: The Moto G Pure only comes in one storage model: 32GB. This could be a bummer for customers willing to spend more money for more space.
  • Charging: Despite a battery which lasts around 12 hours, the Moto G Pure does not include fast charging.
