Doro 824c: Full Specifications

Built around accessibility rather than raw power, the Doro 824 is a simplified Android smartphone with a 5 inch HD display and a layout meant to feel less intimidating than a typical touchscreen model. It combines Android 5.1.1 with clear on-screen guidance, physical keys for core navigation, and Doro features such as the Assistance button and My Doro Manager, which supports remote help from a trusted contact. The phone includes 8 GB of internal storage and supports microSD or microSDHC cards up to 32 GB, giving it enough room for everyday apps, photos, and basic media. Its cameras are modest but practical, with an 8 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front camera, and video support in common formats. Connectivity is well rounded for its class, with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and a micro SIM slot. The 2,000 mAh removable battery helps keep the device straightforward to maintain, and the compact body measures 146 x 73 x 10 mm and weighs 157 g. Hearing aid compatibility, adjustable audio profiles, and the easy to grip design reinforce its focus on simple, supported everyday communication.

Pros

  • Price: The Doro 824c is highly affordable when compared to other smartphones on the market.
  • Accessibility: A number of the 824c's features are meant to provide a simplified experience, which new smartphone users will greatly appreciate.

Cons

  • Specs: When compared to the latest smartphones, the 824c falls short in every category.
  • Buttons: Instead of a keyboard, the Doro 824c includes 18 tactile buttons. This leaves texting with the touch screen, or the few buttons. Both these options may not be the most practical for customers.
